From 15th to 17th November at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Centre returns the 7th edition of CCBF – China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair (http://www.ccbookfair.com/en), the spearhead of Bologna’s event network (https://www.bolognafiere.it ) in the world. The international network created by BolognaFiere, which has just seen the entry of Moscow, where in 2021 will be born the Moscow International Children’s Book Fair, is becoming ever more consolidated. In the last six years, China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair has established itself as a centre for the exchange of international rights and a gathering place for all publishing professions related to content for children and young people.
In addition, since the 2018 edition, the entry of BolognaFiere and its subsidiary BFChina (active in Asia for 15 years) as co-organisers has given impetus to the event, bringing growth of 60% vs 2017 in the presence of international exhibitors. BolognaFiere in the 7th edition of CCBF also contributed to a restyling of the event in full spirit “Bologna Children’s Book Fair”. In Shanghai, therefore, since last year we breathe even more creativity and innovation, with synergies between the business aspect and the character of creative hub and cultural debate. The 7th edition of CCBF will take place in a record space of 25,000 square meters, 38% more than last year, with 418 top publishers and creators of content for children and young people from 32 countries and territories of Hong Kong and Taiwan. Among these, 30% will be for the first time at China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair. The 7th edition of CCBF confirms the growing trend, with a renewed exhibition area, a growing number of pavilions and a wide programme of events that attracts more and more national and international exhibitors. At the Fair there will also be exclusive areas and lounges – Bologna Best Children’s publishers (BOP) Lounge, Witch Prize Lounge, Asia-Pacific New entry Lounge, literary agents Centre, Licensing Lounge, Digital Hub– to facilitate the meeting between the innovative content of international publishers of excellence and the Chinese market.
