Main association representing franchise networks in Italy, since this year Assofranchising (https://ww.assofranchising.it ) is the main partner of Salone franchising Milano (www.salonefranchisingmilano.com)held in Milan from 24 to 25 October. Assofranchinsing is present with its own stand (stand B29 – C28) and a collective of members to provide support to franchisors and potential franchisees. During the two days of Salone franchising Milano, the association offers a program of conferences and meetings with the aim of increasing the knowledge of an increasingly important sector in the Italian business and economic panorama. There are many topics: how to create a network in franchising to know the franchising participatory or the regulations on the contract. Ten workshops organized by Assofranchising to enter the heart of the issues and offer assistance and advice to potential entrepreneurs. On the first day of the Milan franchise show, the award ceremony for the second edition of the Italian franchising Award was also held, the recognition created by Assofranchising to reward the best franchisors operating in Italy and that during 2019 were more distinguished for their business.

The numbers of the sector

As confirmed by the data of the Assofranchising Italy 2019 Report, franchising has recorded a constant trend of development, even in the years of deep crisis. In the last decade the sector has grown by an average of 1.5%. The total turnover in 2018 exceeded 25 billion euros, marking a +2% compared to 2017. Important numbers, but if you estimate that the sector represents only 7% of the total of retail, then the margins of development are still very high (France is to 15.8%, Germany to 22.4%). Together with turnover, in 2018 employment grew (+3.8%) – over 206,000 employees – and signs (+3.4%) exceeding 53,000 stores in Italy. Young entrepreneurs, franchisees between the ages of 36 and 45, represent 58%, are the main drivers. Women also play a leading role: female franchising accounts for 35% of franchisees.
