Eicma 2019, the edition of records

[:it]i Paesi rappresentati sono poco più di quaranta, ma è cresciuto il numero delle aziende presenti, passate dai 1300 dell’edizione 2018 ai 1800 di quest’anno[:]

Waiting for the beginning of the 77 edition of Eicma, International Cycle and Motorcycle Exhibition (https://www.eicma.it), which will open its doors on 5 November to end on 10 in the pavilions of Fiera Milano in Rho, Fiereitaliane.it interviewed President Andrea Dell’Orto to take stock of 77° Eicma.

What are the most interesting news of this edition of Eicma that is warming up the engines ahead of November 5?

A very important presence of manufacturers and components never seen before. Many of them will present interesting innovations. The main novelty is the constant attention to the future, which has always distinguished Eicma. An example of this is the importance given to the mobility of the future, in particular to electric mobility not only declined in motorcycles, but also in e-bikes. A sector that is becoming established and to which we wanted to dedicate a whole pavilion, while another pavilion will give the opportunity to do internal tests on e-bikes.

In 2018, as happens every two years, Eicma was held immediately after the Cologne Motor Show. Despite this, the Saloon of  Moto in Milan has recorded record presences with 1,278 brands present and 744,000 presences. Can you already make forecasts for the 2019 edition?

I can already anticipate that it will be a record edition both for the number of exhibitors – 1,800 – from 43 countries of the world, which make up 60% of total exhibitors, and for the great visibility that is given to the made in Italy, to the entrepreneurial fabric of our country that brings the Italian supply chain into the world as a symbol of excellence and quality. There will be two more pavilions– a record also -, and records also for press credits, the most numerous ever recorded.

Eicma is an event that also attracts foreign exhibitors and investors. Looking back at the last edition, among the 1,278 exhibitors, 52% came from 44 countries.

The interest has certainly increased. As I said before, the represented countries are little more than forty, but the number of companies has grown, going from 1300 of the 2018 edition to 1800 of this year. An international presence therefore very interesting and qualified. I should also like to point out that the internationality of the Eicma does not mean only Europe, but the whole world. In particular, the main manufacturers in Asia will be at Eicma, further confirmation of the importance and reputation of this event.
