The 52nd edition of Filo (https://www.filo.it/), international fair of yarn and fibers, has closed on the 26th of September at Palazzo delle Stelline in Milan with very positive results. As Paolo Monfermoso, responsible of Filo, said: “the 52nd edition has been the chance to present the first results of FiloFlow, the project for the sustainability of Filo. The number of exposers that supported it has been higher than we expected (35%), this underlines the exposers’ attention to the theme, often also without communicating it.
We had decided to launch FiloFlow for these reasons, in order to give visibility and to valorize the production processes and the sustainable products realized by exposers. Because of the market wants a textile supply chain sustainable and trackable. And the sustainability as we understand it involves both the environment and the ethic-social setting and it’s a serious and continuative task. The reaction of the companies to FiloFlow let us identify which points are the most improvable, and we’ll work on them in the next future”.
The workshop “Sostenibilità: un processo virtuoso” on the 25th of September has been dedicated to the sustainability them. This appointment has been created for an accurate request of the exposers, that participated numerously. Caro Piacenza, chairman of Unione Industriale Biellese, in his speech said “The transparency, the trackable, the ethic and the sustainability are all factors that contribute to define the added value of the intangible: an added value that defines the made in Italy and its excellence in the textile sector, from the yarn making to the fashion brands”.
The partnerships have been numerous also in this edition, first of all the collaboration with Ice Agenzia, Sistema Moda Italia and Milano Unica and Acimit, that continue to give very good results, such as the growing interest that collect the presence of Filo in the area Tendenze of Milano Unica. Thanks to the partnership with Ice Agenzia there is a delegation of foreign buyers in each edition of Filo. The delegation was composed by buyers from France, UK, Portugal, Turkey, USA, Netherland and Lithuania. The next appointment with Filo will be in February 2020 with its 53rd edition.
