
Just finished in the location of Fiera Milano Rho, where it was held from 15th to 18th September, the 116 edition of mipel (https://mipel.com/mipel-116/) – the first under the chairmanship of Franco gabbrielli and the fifth led by Danny D’Alessandro, general manager of Assopellettieri and ceo of mipel -, it is presented as an event of large numbers both for the presence of qualified visitors and for the calendar of events.Gabbrielli, after thanking his predecessor Riccardo Braccialini for his work, recalled: «We closed an exceptional edition that, apart from numbers, has collected the satisfaction of exhibitors and buyers, the aspect that interests me the most. This satisfaction is the best business card of our trade fair product and gives us the right incentive to work hard on the future. On the future I have clear ideas: fashion is innovation, courage and a touch of contempt. I like to amaze». The edition ended by registering in fact a +19% of qualified operators compared to the edition of September 2018, thanks in particular to the strong increase of buyers from the EU and the main world markets of reference of Italian leather goods. In particular, as regards the European market, there has been a strong increase in visitors from Germany (+27.80%), Spain (+23.16%), the United Kingdom (+19.46%), Switzerland (+13.22%) and France (+8.44%). As for the non-EU markets, it is worth noting the performance recorded by buyers from South Korea (17.58%) and China (+6.36%). Japan confirms itself as the first ‘MIPEL visitor country, followed by the Russian Federation. In slight decrease the number of visitors in the United States (-2.76%). The panorama is completed by the strong increase of Italian visitors (+12.37%). Fil rouge of mipel 116 and the numerous events and workshops, realized during the days of the event, the themes of sustainability and environmental awareness.
The next edition of mipel will take place from 16 to 18 February 2020 at fieramilano-Rho, in conjunction with micam and homi and overlapping with the first day of Milano Fashion Week.
