Milano Unica, the 29th edition in Rho Fiera Milano

Milano Unica 2019 is the 29th edition of the Italian textile exhibition.

Autumn / winter 2020/21 fabrics and accessories will be presented. A selection that will offer visitors the top of the high-end production for men, women and children.

In Milano Unica there is an increase in European exhibitors rising to 93 (+ 8%), while the number of 465 exhibitors is in line with last year’s edition.  The attention of Milano Unica and its exhibitors is aimed at supporting digital innovation processes. This is in production, promotion and communication activities. This is also why a pilot edition of the e-milanounica platform was launched in February. At six months away, 153 companies have joined and each one has up to 20 products from the latest collection. We are pleased to recall the Sustainability project launched by Milano Unica in 2017. In this edition, there are 150 participating companies, with 1004 samples on display in the exhibition reserved for Sustainability. On this occasion, two new categories were introduced among the product cataloging criteria: ‘Fancy Green’ for creative and innovative products and ‘EverGreen’ for those that express continuity over time.

Ercole Botto Poala, President of Milano Unica

“The substantial confirmation of the number of exhibitors also in this edition comforts the goodness of our choices and our proposals. A very pleasant surprise was the growth of subscriptions to the e-milanounica platform, the Marketplace developed in collaboration with Pitti Immagine, which also represents a digital evolution of our event. Also in this case, both as a system and as individual companies, we have to work hard to enrich our experiences and our skills in making the product perceive, but also to convey emotions. Meanwhile, however, we have created a further incentive to go in the right direction. Furthermore, adherence to the Sustainability project is going beyond our best expectations. There is obviously still a lot to do, but our contribution lies within a perspective made necessary by the responsibility we feel we have to contribute to safeguarding the planet, while giving concrete answers to the increasingly important demands that come from the new sensibilities expressed from the market. It is also for this reason that, in harmony with Sistema Moda Italia, an agreement was signed with the National Chamber of Italian Fashion, which foresees the participation of Milano Unica at the Green Carpet in September, in which a prize will be awarded to a young designer who will have been able to creatively interpret a more sustainable fashion “
