Back at Fiera Milanocity, from 5 to 7 April, Miart 2019 is the international event dedicated to modern and contemporary art, organized by Fiera Milano, under the direction of Alessandro Rabottini.
The international scope of miart 2019 is amply demonstrated by the 185 international galleries, representing as many as 18 countries in addition to Italy.
Among the many international galleries that have chosen Milan as the stage in Italy for the first time, prestigious names such as Cabinet (London), Corvi-Mora (London), Marian Goodman Gallery (New York – Paris – London) and Hauser stand out. & Wirth (Hong Kong – London – Los Angeles – New York – Somerset – St. Moritz – Gstaad – Zurich), Herald St (London), Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac (Paris – London – Salzburg) and Tucci Russo (Torre Pellice). The jury that will assign the Fondazione Fiera Milano acquisition fund and the 5 awards that miart has conceived for the galleries and artists, with 18 directors of international museums and curators of prestigious institutions from 10 countries, are highly qualified. The collaboration between miart and Between Art Film is witnessed by miartalks: a three-day conversation open to the public, with more than 40 artists, curators and museum directors, collectors, designers and international writers involved. Miart will also be the epicenter of the Milan Art Week, a rich calendar of exhibitions, events and special openings promoted in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan | Culture and whose protagonists are the major public institutions, private foundations and non-profit spaces in the city. Now in its most ambitious edition ever, Milan Art Week sees the participation, among others, of Citylife / Parco delle Sculture, Chiostri di Sant’Eustorgio / Museo Diocesano, FM – Center for Contemporary Art, Adolfo Pini Foundation, Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation, Carriero Foundation, ICA Milan Foundation, Nicola Trussardi Foundation, Prada Milan Foundation, Stelline Foundation, Gallerie d’Italia, GAM – Gallery of Modern Art, Museo del ‘900, Poldi Pezzoli Museum, Prada Foundation Observatory, PAC – Pavilion of Contemporary Art, Palazzo Dugnani, Palazzo Reale, Pirelli HangarBicocca, Triennale Milan / Triennale Teatro dell’Arte.
Two collective events will close the art week: the Art Night of the non-profit spaces on Saturday 6th April and the special opening on Sunday 7th April of the private galleries of Milan.
