Fourteenth edition for Danzainfiera, certainly the most important international event for dance and musical theater. The exhibition will be staged (it is appropriate to say) from 21st to 24th February. Rich program, including workshops, internships, lectures and meetings with the stars of dance and musical theater. Every day it will be possible to practice dance at every level, from classical to contemporary passing through flamenco and tap, but among the suggestions we can find also the Dance in the Band, the Bhangra, the Bollywood Dance, the American Tribal Style, the Flagging dance, the Sambatewado, Belly Burlesque and Stretching & Flexibility. On February 15th, the mothers of the Danza in Fascia di Genova classes were among the protagonists of the Italia’s Got Talent show with a great response from the public. The Urban Pavilion, expanded this year, will host lectures, contests, battle and spectacular dancers of the hip hop scene. The weekend includes a schedule aimed at enthusiasts including laboratories, internships and open classes with international teachers and a choreographic showcase for lovers of claquettes. On February 23rd at 17 the big stars will be on stage in La Ronda where they will alternate with emotions. Lucia Lacarra and Hosué Ullate will perform an excerpt from Victor Ullate’s La Carmen, Evgenia Obraztsova will perform a Talisman variation by Petipa, Gusev, Ponolarev. El Junco will also be on stage and Rada Waackengers, Waacking Queen, Christiane Matallo, accompanied by percussionist Jim Hamilton. Cristian Priori and Dasha Loginova will perform in the Latin dances, a performance of standard dances with Ivan Iacobbe and Ylenia Dalla Bona. In short, of course it will be difficult to get bored! In the living room dedicated to the meetings will sit on the international scene as Evgenia Obraztsova, first dancer of the Bolshoi Theater and Lucia Lacarra, artistic director of the Victor Ullate Ballet. From the Theater Verdi in Florence there will be Anthony Heinl, choreographer and artistic director who has been part of Momix and with his eVolution dance theater fuses dance and magic in The magic of light, and also Yanina Valeria Quiñones and Neri Luciano Piliù, choreographers, directors artists and dancers of the Tango Rouge Company, in Florence with the show of authentic Argentine tango Noche de Buenos Aires. We also remember the absolute preview of the Musical School of Rock by Massimo Romeo Piparo, which presents itself in style in Danzainfiera. The show will feature, for the first time in a musical, Pasquale Petrolo in art Lillo alongside young talents trained at the Sistine Academy in Rome. The meeting with the cast will be preceded by a flash mob scheduled for Saturday 23rd at 12 at the Fortezza da Basso. On the sofa of the Incontri Area there are also splendid princesses: they come from the Teatro di Cestello, on stage with “Disenchants! – le più stronze del reame”, Claudia Cecchini, Giulia Mattarucco, Claudia Belluomini, will present a workshop dedicated to the musical the choreographer Franco Miseria from Rai to Mediaset he has curated the choreographies of programs that have made the history of television. Do not miss the workshops of Spiritual Body Experience with the international performer Valerio Longo, and the internships with the world champion of tap tap Daniel Leveillé. The Dutch artist Kenzo Alvares, dancers, choreographer, DJ and hip hop teacher who travels the world with his performances, is highly anticipated for his first time in Danzainfiera. From the famous TV program Amici di Maria De Filippi, here is Veronica Peparini, Gabriele Esposito and Simone Nolasco. The three will meet the public between curiosity and inevitable selfie. Thanks to the International Academies Open Days there will be many auditions of excellence that will give the possibility to the most talented students, to become part of the most prestigious dance schools in the world: they could open the doors of the Vaganova Academy of St. Petersburg, the Joffrey Ballet School of New York and, for the first time, of the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington. A very important sign for young people, and a confirmation of the goodness of the Florentine kermesse. Extremely suggestive of the Grand Ball of the 800: the extraordinary dancers of the National Historical Dance Company in elegant tailcoats and precious dresses, will perform waltzes, quadrilles, contradictions and mazurkas. The Finisterre production, in collaboration with the Musica per Roma Foundation, leads to Danzainfiera Ballo! preview of the party at the end of June dedicated to the ancient Italian dances that will see the official presentation of the Ballet of the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome with an exhibition on the notes of the Italian Popular Orchestra conducted by Maestro Ambrogio Sparagna. Magie d’Oriente is instead the choreographic showcase dedicated to oriental disciplines. We also remember the Burlesque Contest: one of a kind, it opens the doors to everyone in the classic or new categories, comic and fantasy. Flamencoinfiera: Entre dos Aguas is the non-competitive exhibition open to choreography of both “fusion” and “pure flamenco”: brings on stage an art in continuous transformation, a culture born from gypsy migrants, for whom singing, music and dance was an integral part of everyday life. The dreamlike Kemp – Homage to the great artist, is the exhibition organized by the Léonide Massine Foundation in memory of Lindsay Kemp with a photographic exhibition curated by Paolo Bonciani. Also scheduled a conference with friends and colleagues of the great artist who will reveal anecdotes of his private life. The Academy of Fine Arts in Florence will be present in Danzainfiera with the exhibition “The art dance on the tips”: on display works created by the students of the historic Florentine school who have measured themselves with the artistic reinterpretation of 880 ballet shoes. The public at the fair will vote for the two best works and all the creations will be on sale: the proceeds will go to charity to Girotondo forever.
