19th Zoomark International, the international exhibition of products and equipment for pets, has also decided to cancel the 2020 edition and move to the next appointment from 10 to 13 May 2021, always in the Bologna exhibition center.
Organized by BolognaFiere under the patronage of the National Association for the Nutrition and Care of Companion Animals, and of the National Association of Italian Veterinary Doctors, Zoomark International will have as its keywords innovation, inspiration and encounter.
In the previous edition, 19th Zoomark International registered the presence of 757 exhibitors, of which 507 from abroad (from 45 countries) and over 30,000 operators (+ 23% vs 2018), of which 11,317 from abroad (about 40% of the total) from 104 countries.
The latest economic indicators available show that, in the food and accessories pet’s market, products dedicated to food for dogs and cats (about 15 million specimens in Italy) recorded, in 2019, a slightly lower turnover to 2.1 billion euros, + 1.5%. Italy, with 60.4 million animals, is the first for “Pet population” in Europe, a 1: 1 ratio compared to the inhabitants, and it is second only to Poland for the percentage of people who have pets at home.
For commercial purposes Europe is to be considered, today, the largest and most interesting world market in the sector, a continent in which all the main countries register the domestic presence of a dog, a cat or other species, such as fish and birds, in percentages ranging from 70% in Poland to 67% in Italy, up to 49% in Sweden (Source: Assalco-Zoomark and Elaborazioni BolognaFiere report).

AquaProject will return to Zoomark International. This is the third edition of the initiative aimed to a sector which, in Italy alone, has 30 million aquarium fish (including exotic and native species).
Among the other dominant themes at Zoomark International, the packaging and the area dedicated to startups and initiatives capable of bringing innovation to the sector should be mentioned.
Packaging is considered a formidable tool for safety, traceability, communication and relationship with the consumer. 19th Zoomark International will present services, products, innovative design, packaging solutions and machinery for the industry, which will complement and complete the professional chain of products and accessories for Pet.
Under the slogan “Innovation, new businesses and sustainability” Zoomark International, alongside the exhibition stands, will develop opportunities for relationships, with presentations, demonstrations, networking meetings and insights. The entire area will be built to facilitate meetings and synergies between new entrepreneurs and companies of the Pet sector, to identify new products and market outlets.
